Sint Jacobsgracht

This early 20th century house is situated in the old city centre of Leiden at the Sint Jacobsgracht. It is the home to my mum and her partner. For this renovation project I was asked to make the initial sketches and drawings for the room division on the first and second floor, the kitchen, the bathroom, and the back facade towards the garden terrace.

These drawings provided enough information for Hans Uilenbroek to work with. Hans is an expert in working with wood. Most of the furniture and wooden details of the house are hand made with great care in his atelier on the ground floor.

The house is being renovated with respect to the original colours and materials found in the city centre of Leiden. To bring back the original character of the house, the wooden construction beams were completely restored and made visible again.

At the moment this project is still under construction.
